Wilson Sonsini: Supporting Next Door Solutions for nearly 25 years

Since 1997, law firm Wilson Sonsini has provided a wide range of support that has included pro bono services, board membership, sponsorship of NDS events, volunteers for various events, donation of holiday gifts, and so much more. Further, the Wilson Sonsini Foundation has annually sponsored events at NDS since 2004.

In 2010, Wilson Sonsini partnered with NDS for our holiday program serving domestic violence survivors and their children for the first time. Multiple Wilson Sonsini teams hosted gift drives and the firm also provided volunteers to assist with what began as a holiday boutique and later became the Winter Open House. As Gail McFall, Senior Manager of Community Affairs at Wilson Sonsini and Administrator of the Wilson Sonsini Foundation, remembers, “The boutique was set up like a store where Next Door Solutions’ clients and their children were invited to come in and shop for gifts for each other at no cost.”

To this day, numerous groups in Wilson Sonsini’s Palo Alto office host holiday gift drives in support of this effort, donating items such as stuffed animals, children’s books, and warm winter blankets. During the 2020 holiday season, due to the COVID pandemic, the firm’s community services team pivoted and employees donated gift cards instead of toys for our families when we could not hold our traditional Winter Open House.

In addition, Wilson Sonsini has hosted Earth Day Fairs at which the firm collected used cell phones as donations to support NDS.
